You might have been doing a research to all camera in the market. And read all magazine, internet article, discussion forum or subscribe on mailing list. it might say that you can easily get the data to all camera you want.

but before you choose to buy one, first you have to test drive your camera, feel it on your hand, is it heavy or light? how's the handling, do you comfortable with the navigation menu, try to take a picture, test all the button on the camera, ask the customer service about the feature. it's not easy to choose a camera before you try it by yourself. Camera as like as choosing a wife for you. you have to know it first before you marry it.


Camera Model

Camera have divide into 3 level (pro, semi pro and entry level), how to know which level your camera. First check the price (more higher the price the more good your camera level) then you can know it from how the camera named it. Each Camera company have unique name.

Nikon
D-SLR camera always named with "D" then each level depend on the number after the "D"

-Professional, 1 digit, such as D1, D1x, D1h, D2x, D2h and D3
-Semi Pro, 3 digit, such as D100, D200, D300 and D700
-Entry Level, 2 digit number below 70, such as D40, D40x, D50 and D60

Canon

Canon use the "D" too, at the beginning canon named it their camera look like the nikon named it ("D"then the number) but now the different is the "D" is written after the number.

-1Ds, 1Ds MkII, 1Ds Mk III
-1D, 1D Mk II, 1D Mk II N, 1D Mk III
-5D, 5D Mk II
-D30, D60, 10D, 20D, 30D, 40D, 50D
-300D, 350D, 400D, 450D
-1000D

Olympus
Olympus use the "E" word for each their camera

-E-1, E-3
-E-500, E-510, E520
-E-300, E-330
-E-400, E-410, E-420
