Canon has developed a new large, single piece, APS-C sized CMOS sensor for the EOS 450D, with an effective resolution of 12.2 megapixel. it captures beautiful images of up to 4272 x 2848 pixels, it will give you an excellent level of detailing. The sensor measure 22.2 mm x 14.8 mm, giving the Canon EOS 450 a lens crop factor of 1.6x
